Food poisoning is a foodborne troublesome illness resulting from eating contaminated, polluted or toxic food. Bacteria, viruses, and parasites are some leading infectious organisms that cause food poisoning. Some of the most common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, dehydration, indigestion, and diarrhea.

Constant vomiting 

Bloody vomit or stools

Diarrhea for more than three days

Extreme pain or severe abdominal cramping

Body temperature higher than 101.5 F 


Who is at risk of food poisoning?

1. Elderly are at higher risk of food poisoning

2. An adult with weak immune is also at great risk of developing food poisoning.


3. Pregnant women are more susceptible to have food poisoning.

4. Infants and children with the undeveloped immune system.

5. People suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic liver disease or patient receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy are also at higher risk of food poisoning.
