Our body is just like a temple, and we need to pay special attention to it to live a healthy life.But only a few of us understand its importance and most of us take it for granted.Today, the vital organs (kidney, heart, lungs, liver, intestines) may be functioning well, but they may not be working well tomorrow.But what are we doing to keep it healthy?Are we taking healthy diet?Are we drinking enough water to keep our body hydrated?Are we taking enough sleep every day?Are we living a healthy lifestyle?Do we exercise regularly?Do you know that half of the population is either obese or overweight? We are continuously adopting an unhealthy life that results in unnecessary health problems.Good health is not all about healthy eating and exercise, having a positive mental health, a healthy self-image and a healthy lifestyle.The secret of healthy life lies in making small changes like a glass of water in the morning, exercise, yoga, meditation, optimistic point of view as small changes lead to big results.
Here are some few examples that can lead towards the healthy life.
1. Drink a Glass of Water in the Morning-
Always try to wake up early in the morning and drink at least one glass of water regularly. You can put a slice of lemon or lime in the water if you don’t like its natural taste. Water helps to clear our system, bring on metabolism rate and drain out the toxins from the body.Some people even say that it helps to reduce weight.
2. Sleep Enough-
To keep our body healthy and fit we should sleep enough.Without proper sleep ,we always feel tired and angry and it also disturbs concentration ability.Lack of sleep may impact your health adversely.Studies show that we should take at least 8 hours of sleep per 24-hour period every day.But the time duration varies from person to person.Enough sleep keeps a person fresh and also improves concentration power.
3. Stretch in the Morning-
Stretch your body as soon as you wake up as it helps to wake your body from drowsiness. Stretch your back, your legs, your neck lightly as you wake up. Stretching in the morning enhances the flow of blood to your muscles and provides an extra shot of oxygen and prepares them for a new day.
4.Never Skip Breakfast-
Breakfast provides all the nutrients to the body and mind and keeps your body active throughout the day.Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.Research shows that those who eat breakfast are less prone to obesity or overweight.Fruits and vegetables are the best sources of nutrient so try to add a banana or a glass of fruit juice in your breakfast.It’s enough to get up only 15 minutes earlier to prepare a like breakfast such as an omelette, fruit salad or juice.
6.Walk at least 30 minutes daily-
We all know about the advantages of walking, but due to lack of availability of time, we tend to ignore it.Research shows that we should walk at least 30 minutes daily to improve your heart health. Use stairs and avoid using elevators as much as possible.
7.Eat healthy and stay fit-
Our body depends on the quality and quantity of meal we eat.We should always take our meals on time.We should never skip our meal.We should only eat when hungry not otherwise, as it protects from hyperacidity, gastritis, bloating etc.
8.Don’t drink alcohol-
Alcohol is very much diuretic in nature. Continuous and repeated alcohol consumption creates many deadly health issues.People may experience aggression, agitation or impulsivity. Adversely impacting the proper functioning of our brain, liver, lungs, and other major organs.If you drink alcohol regularly, it’s time to cut it out, or at the very least, drastically reduce your consumption.
It has been thoroughly proven that smoking is injurious to health, badly increasing the risk of lung cancer, kidney cancer, esophageal cancer,heart attack, and more.Conclusion: if you’re a smoker, quit for better health of not just yourself, but also your family and friends. If you don’t smoke, stay that way and don’t start.
