Women need to be beware of these diseases

Women have always been known for being over burdened with work which imposes the severe risk of various diseases – be it physical or cognitive. According to health professionals women are more prone to some diseases than men. Some of the most common diseases that affect women’s health are heart diseases, breast cancer, osteoporosis, and autoimmune diseases. Let’s know more about them and the ways to keep them at arm’s length.

1)Osteoporosis- Women have always been linked to increased risk of bone problems. Osteoporosis is one of them. According to the orthopedist it affects 1 in 4 women over the age of 45 and may lead to partial or complete disability. It is a condition that gradually weakens the bones making them to break or damage easily. Aging, certain medication, genetics, sedentary lifestyles, low body mass, etc are main causing concern for osteoporosis. Women are advised to consult the doctors on experiencing symptoms like swelling in joint, stiffness in joint, difficulty on walking or moving. Following healthy lifestyles and consuming healthy foods highly reduces the chances of developing it.

2)Heart Diseases- Though it is widely known that heart diseases mostly affect men but the raising percentage of women’s death due to heart conditions says different story. Heart disease such as heart failure, heart attack, cardiac arrest has become excessive common in women. Excessive weight, sedentary lifestyle, no exercise, unhealthy food consumption, etc are the leading causes of it. Women can keep them at bay by avoiding a stressful life and by following healthy lifestyles.  

3) Breast Cancer- One of the life threatening conditions that affect women is breast cancer. It is one of the most common types of cancers that have taken innumerable lives of women. So it is still unclear what causes it but there are risk factors such as aging, genetics, exposure to radiations heavily contribute to it.

4)Cervical Cancer- Cervical cancer is another form of cancer that affects women. Some of its symptoms not necessarily are weak immune system, unexplained weight gain, excessive bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, persistent back pain, pelvic pain, etc. Get your health tested on experiencing these symptoms to reduce the risk of developing cervical cancer.

5) Depression- Depression is another silent killer which is silently affecting millions of women’s lives. It is a serious mental health condition that affects both physical and mental health. If not diagnosed and treated earlier it can make people clinically depressed and may cause serious physical illnesses.

You are advised to consult your doctor for screening and to prescribe test based on your condition. Early screening plays a critical role in increasing the chances of survival.
